Faux Finishing Services

Faux finishing is a decorative painting technique where the finish mimics another material, texture, or aged look like marble, wood, or patinas. We offer different styles or faux finishing to match your home, design, and projects, including:

Metallic Faux Painting (Gilding or Glinting) - Our specialty! A technique very similar to sponging or brushing but with metallic color that evokes a timeless, classic elegance to your home or project.

Sponge Painting – A free-form finish achieved by applying color to a surface by dabbing a sea sponge, in various shapes, to achieve either simple design and/or more sophisticated ones.

Brushing - A technique that can be one most dramatic of the faux painting effects. Commonly liked because of its resulting structured and uniform look.

Wood Graining, or faux bois (French for “fake wood”) - A technique often used to imitate exotic or hard-to-find wood varieties.

  • Fresco - A simple technique that uses mixtures of tint and joint compound to add mottled color and subtle texture to surfaces.

  • Venetian Plaster - A smooth and often shiny plaster design that appears textured but is smooth to the touch. Venetian plaster is one of the most popular and traditional plaster decorations.

  • Color Wash - A free-form finish that creates subtle variations of color using multiple hues of glaze blended together.

  • Rag Painting (or Ragging) - A glazing technique using twisted or bunched up rags to create a textural pattern.

“My experience was nothing short of satisfaction; quality work, a well-coordinated schedule, and a crew who were polite and neat throughout the project. Though I still maintain Beatles over Rolling Stones! No matter how great the Bully crew can dance to the latter.”
